Our ToP Faculty are available to train your executives, managers and staff. Training is accompanied by follow-up mentoring according to need. A path to "certification" for ToP and the International Certified Facilitator process from IAF is also available.
The Technology of Participation (ToP)™ offers a widely tested and powerful body of facilitation knowledge and practices. Based on a proven set of tools and principles, ToP™ maximizes the value of time spent in group processes. The value of these results is developed and shared by all participants. These experiences are enriched by the enduring value of strengthened relationships and mutual learning.
The ToP™ Facilitative Leadership Program enhances the understanding, capability and performance of those needing to deliver results through more effective communication models which harness the knowledge, ideas and energy of committed people.
The program consists of three strands. A linked series of intensive modules developing one’s capability in both facilitation theory and practice.
A total of six hours of coaching/mentoring sessions that operate between the modules doing one-on-one coaching in facilitation planning, delivery and debriefing on the job facilitation projects that integrate participant’s facilitation learnings with delivering job outcomes.
The program is delivered by facilitators who are members of the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA)Australia. In the 1980s the ICA developed models for providing training and consultancy in methods and perspectives of participatory change. These processes have been implemented successfully world-wide as Technology of Participation™ Programs.
The six two-day modules:
The first three deal with developing capability in a set of stand alone and integrated facilitation methodologies for group discussions, meetings, planning, decision making etc.
· Module 1: Group Facilitation Methods - provides firm grounding in the ToP™ Discussion and Workshop Methods as fundamental building blocks of the Technology of Participation TM.
· Module 2: Facilitation Expansion and Integration - integrates complementary facilitation tools allowing adaptation of the Discussion and Workshop methods to create high impact facilitation events for a wide variety of situations.
· Module 3: Strategic Thinking and Planning - applies the Workshop Method in a strategic thinking and planning framework– to take the journey from vision to action, from initial uncertainty to a point of clear purpose and commitment.
The second three modules deal with developing perspectives in the role of facilitative leader – understanding how to authentically facilitate the creative tensions between the diversity of stakeholders, the dynamics of change and the role of the facilitator in delivering outcomes.
· Module 4: Working with Value Systems - explores stimulating perspectives on how facilitators can work with people who have different ways of thinking, valuing, learning and communicating.
· Module 5: Understanding and Leading Change - provides new understandings of how change happens and appropriate leadership options for facilitating change, including the dynamics and forces and methods to support change.
· Module 6: Spirit and Philosophy of Facilitative Leadership - focuses on performing at the cutting edge of leadership — building participative cultures, structures and practices as a facilitative leader of change.
